With this album Frédéric Slama gathered who´s who in the westcoast business and created a great album for the westcoast music fans.
AOR L.A Reflection. This is the third production from Frederic Slama, a great CD with lot of great musicians. Steve Lukather, Michael Ruff, Tommy Denander, Göran Edman... just to mention a few. With 12 great tracks and 2 bonus track is this something you must have in you're CD collection. I highly recommend you to buy this record!! 9/10. / Bengt
I agree with Bjorn. Some records and artists get hyped and Slama is one of them. It´s true...It´s fun to see all these names on a record but it´s not like they were gathered at the same time in the same studio.Overall the song material isn´t good enough and the production is a bit sloppy. And in my taste this goes for all the AOR albums .There are some highlights on these albums but, even I can´t neglect that but they are to few to have the albums earn the hype they have got.
In my opinion this project with Frédéric Slama called AOR is overrated! A project that looks very impressing "on the paper" with all famous names that features on the record. The only interesting thing about the impressing artists on the CD's is that it makes a smile on Your face when You realise that "those artists obviosuly is STILL in the business and are recording music!" But when You HEAR the result it sounds a lot like music that goes in inside of one of my ears and out of the other ear! And so far (to this day in 2006) I feel the same for ALL of the AOR-CD's that has been released! If You're not a millionaire: Spend Your money and buy other great CD's instead with much better quality!
