Your comments about this record:

Produced in the same year that also gave birth to "Airplay", this collaboration of Peter Allen and his producer David Foster ranges among the best material the classic Westcoast period (for me, roughly between 1976 and 1984) ever came up with! A crystal-clear sound put on tape by some of the best musicians of the L.A. scene PLUS beautifully whimsical, at times even pretty ambigiuous lyrics, make this album a true masterpiece of its own kind. As for me, there is not one "weak" song on this longplayer, but I really LOVE "One Step Over The Borderline", "Fly Away", "Bi-Coastal" and "Pass This Time". GREAT JOB!!! *****

Meet David Foster in the beginnig stages of his producing era. This is like a prototype of a great Westcoast album .Everything fits. And above this....magical backvox from Steve George and Richard Page.Stand out cut?? Fly Away !!!!!

A true master piece. One of my all time favourite west coast albums...... Say no more....

this a wonderful & amazing.cd one us my favorite singer.peter allen.alive forever,in buenos aires argentina.

From "The Boy From Oz"... Although more of an easy listening singer. Peter Allen explores many musical styles on this album, pop rock and R&B. "Fly Away" and the title track are the most popular. Michael Landau and Dan Huff do not appear on this CD but I guess it's just an error.

Truly one of the greatest. This album is solid all through and Foster is at his best. But how can you go wrong with these musicians? This album is also not that hard to get, so go ahead and buy it!

Of course this was Peter Allen's only big success in the States other than co-writing Arthur's Theme (he only wrote one line "When you get caught between the moon and New York City") and writing hits for Olivia Newton John and others. Now he is known as the subject of the hit musical THE BOY FROM OZ starring Hugh Jackman. Hopefully future productions of this show will bring back memories of this much missed "bi-coastal" singer and showman.

peter allen's bi-coastal was one of the first records I got and it's a brilliant abum. Like another reviewer says, it's just a crystal clear sound put to tape. An amazing production and the amazing songs are plenty. "One step over the borderline" (what a great tune) "Fly away", a classic....."Bi-Coastal"....can you see from the towers of manhattan, to the hills of beverly? super track......... "I don't go shipping".....very nice performance from peter...... "Hit in the Heart".... killer song. I never get tired of it. It's brilliant. Wow, side 2 contains another 15 minutes that you can play without skipping anything. "Simon".....is a big standout. A beautiful song everyone can relate to. For me the only song that pales very slightly in comparison to the rest of this entire album maybe is "somebody's angel" but it's still good and a perfect part of this mega masterpiece. If new to westcoast, there are few better places to start
