This is a brilliant album! Especially the title track and the ballads. Bleu has a typical "westcoast"-voice, and the songs sticks to your mind after just one listening.
Hola, me gusta mucho Frankie Blue, una voz muy harmonica, representativa del WestCost, gracis por esta pagina, para os amntes de este tipo de musica
Great Album. A little known fact is that Frankie Bleu did some songs for the soundtrack to the movie ‘the vals’ (1982). As far as I know, the vals soundtrack was never released on any format (I have tried hard for any evidence of a tape or vinyl ever existing) even though the film credits say ‘soundtrack available on unicorn worldwide records’. So I think the only way to hear these other Frankie bleu songs is by watching a video of ‘the vals’ in which you’ll hear somewhat decent length sections. They have a slightly new wavey electronic pop sound to them that was typical of the time and of the short lived unicorn records at this time (these were the label who also put out joe chemay’s great AOR album, The riper the finer) but they are really good. Frankie Bleu (Frankie Bleu- Frank Butorac) was previously a member of 70’s rock band Gabriel and ‘who’s foolin who’ is his only album as Frankie Bleu while these extra movie songs are also under the name Frankie Bleu. I was not disappointed by this album though cause it’s excellent. My favorite moment is maybe in ‘Baby were Alive’ for the break and guitar solo but Take your time is a great song. In fact everything here is great bar maybe 'waiting for your love' which I don’t like so much. It is occasionally a bit pompous, but a high quality & sincere album ‘dedicated to all those who may suffer at the hands of violence’ (well, my LP copy says this on the back cover) I really think Frankie Bleu should release a small cd of demo’s if possible to add to his classic westcoast album, but I am pretty sure those songs will never come out. ‘Who’s foolin Who?’ would be a good intro to early 80’s westcoast. I really like this album and would always recommended it. Lots of up-beat westcoast pop among the more peaceful stuff and like Tore says, the songs stick in your head after just one listen
It was 1975 that Frank Butoraci started his professional music career with the band Gabriel in Seattle. Gabriel released 2 albums for ABC Records; "This Star On Every Heel" (1975) / "Sweet Release" (1976) and then "Gabriel" (1978) for Epic Records followed. The band broke up without success except "Martha" from their 3rd album appeared #73 on the US chart. Thus, Frank sought for next step and contacted with his old fellow Joe Chemay. And as a result, the album "Who's Foolin' Who" was recorded with all the members of The Joe Chemay Band. And this album was released in 1982 as Frankie Bleu not Frank Butoraci. You will be satisfied with this album featuring excellent West Coast / AOR tracks such as "Who's Foolin' Who" and "Just For You". Enjoy the good 80's West Coast / AOR album now!It was 1975 that Frank Butoraci started his professional music career with the band Gabriel in Seattle.
