Your comments about this record:

I first heard Karla Bonoff after the introduction of her first album ("Karla Bonoff") and fell in love with her vocal style. Never a fan of machine-gun vibratos (i.e. Cher), Bonoff has a "directness" to her delivery, which at least one other Amazon reviewer termed "boring," but which is the best vocal style of all to those who appreciate its nuances - (both Suzanne Vega and Jackson Brown, by way of example, use a similar, lightly modulated style.) "Restless Nights" is one of my personal favorites from the '70's. I still play the LP to this day. Personal favorites include "Baby Don't Go" (playful, good hook) and "Trouble." I don't think I've ever been able to play "The Water is Wide" without struggling to hold back tears. The entire recording is worth the purchase for that one song alone... it sealed my fate as an eternal Bonoff fan.

I agree with Greg. She is great. Karla Bonoff's first two albums are kind of folk meets adult contemporary?. Both released in the late 70's they definately sound that way rather than 80's while songs like Loving you do fit the early 80's westcoast. They are excellent easy listening albums and I must say she has an extremely pretty voice. I remember I first 'heard' her on Christopher Cross' 2nd album "Another Page" where her voice blends very well with Cross' for the excellent duet, What am I supposed to Believe. After that I got her two album's immediately and was not dissapointed. I am still missing her early 80's album and the supposedly very good 'New World' (late 80's?) but they are on my list of cd's to buy. What a nice voice
