Your comments about this record:

Chicago has not released an all new material album since "Twenty 1" in 1991. Finally "Chicago XXX", the band's 30th release overall, ended this long long waiting period. The first single is the opening track "Feel" featuring Robert Lamm on lead vocal. The beautiful Jason's power ballad "King Of Might Have Been" follows, and "Caroline" written by Jason with Chas Sanford is bringing you back to 1991 just after "Twenty 1" release. On this track, Robert leads 1st verse and 2nd one is done by Bill and Jason high-pitch powerful vocals follows. "Why Can't We" is very first ballad featuring a female guest vocalist. "Love Will Come Back" is a pop country type love song with Rascal Flatts but Bill's voice adds some kind of spice to the song. "Long Lost Friend" is Jason's beautiful ballad which remind us mid 80's Chicago featuring Bill also. "90 Degrees And Freezing" is co-written by Robert and Jason with Jay DeMarcus/Brett James, which is started by Robert's typical melody and then powerful Jason melody cut in. This is really great! Bill and Jason did great collaboration on "Where Were You" The best track must be funky and bluesy "Already Gone" written by Bill with George Hawkins Jr. !, which is Sons Of Champlin or Bill's solo works type tune. Bill rocks and rules here and there on this album. As everybody knows, "Stone Of Sisyphus" (Chicago 22) never released and bearing this in mind, "Chicago XXX" seems to be the current answer to Chicago fans who wishes "Stone Of Sisyphus" official release. In this sense, "Chicago XXX" is by any means the band's greatest masterpiece for me now, even though many old 70's Chicago era fans never agree. The band Chicago is on the run.

Now that's closer to what the doctor ordered! Chicago rocks and who'd have believed it? Well the "Sisyphos" project was great but didn't see the light of day apart from one or two bootlegs running. 10 years later they hang on in there, and it's pure magic! To my taste "King of make believe" could have been dropped, but anyways it's classic Chicago for the 21 century! The sound was never tighter and they still write killer songs! A definite must for all lovers of today's AC!

The song "Already Gone" seems to be making references to 1980s songs. "Please Louise" sounds like a Footloose reference.

Good album although it doesn't match the David Foster era ones. Robert Lamm has said that Rhino will release Stone of Sisyphus OFFICIALLY! Later this year.
