This is obviously only going to be a fan release, but for those who are fans of Dakota and were/are interested in this release - let me tell you that the sound quality is superb and the concert captured here is of the highest order. More sweet Westcoast sounds throughout as the band run thru over a dozen of their best songs. A more than worthy addition to any Dakota owning music fan.
To celebrate the band's 20th Anniversary, Dakota (who recently released their last studio effort "Little Victories") have put out a limited 1000-copies edition of this concert recorded live in 1980 and featuring songs from the Jerry/Kelly album and the debut under the Dakota moniker. I must say that this has a pretty decent sound if we take into account that it was recorded 20 years. The vocals of Jerry Hludzik and Bill Kelly certainly steal the spotlight and they create beautiful harmonies all over the record. "Three Live Times Ago" comprises 13 live tracks plus 4 recorded in the studio and the material is a combination of old AOR/Westcoast with hints of classic bands like Touch, LeRoux, Airplay or Whiteheart (first cds). This is a fantastic document for the fans of the band and old/classic AOR with this late 70's/beginning of the 80's sound.
