Cool night is one of my all time favorites growing up in the early 80s. Brian Johnson
One of my alltime faves... and so sad he never made a record again! "Davis did not feel comfortable entrenched in the genre" it says on "Wikipedia", but I cannot believe this. These ten songs are definitely part of the Great American Songbook and even 25 years later they haven't lost their beauty. Every song recommended. A definite must for every collector, no argument ;-)...
This was the environment that Paul Davis was making music in.. The 70s was the "song writers" era, because studios were becoming more popular, and it didn't matter who you had on stage, all you needed was a good song and lots of time in the studio with studio musicians. In fact, Steely Dan's albums were made up of mixed and matched studio musicians that Donald Fagan and Walter Becker picked.
must be proud paul davis of this album, especially of "cool night" what a song!!! i've got to say a exclusive song very good as a this called "loved by the one you love" by rupert holmes" and there is another, but ain't gonna say in this time chaoooo....
I love Cool Night,65 Love Affair, and I Go Crazy. I read on the net that he had died and it wasn't being covered but the media was going on about britney spears. I thought the writer was joking or mistaken, but they weren't. rip Paul we all love you.
