Egil Eldoen joined the Norwegian band LAVA in 1982 as the lead singer and this here was his first solo release in 1985 after enjoying a big success with LAVA and the 1984 'Fire' album. It is a shame that this is so hard to find on cd (It sells for around 250dlrs second hand at the moment) because it is a real classic. Welcome into my heart and The Light are just two great songs that stick in your head after just one listen... but the album is a definate keeper. I suppose sometimes it is quite like LAVA from the same time (some lava players were involved in this album)..maybe a little more poppy and slightly more mainstream radio friendly.. but it's true quality and I love this album as much as I love LAVA's best albums. The production is amazing. If comparing it to some american westcoast, think of a solo album to sit beside david roberts and Peter Allen. You must get this album if you can. Hopefully it will get re-issued on cd soon. If not, providing you have a turntable, you could hopefully get a cheap original LP copy of musicstack.com or gemm.com.... especially as all the norway made vinyls I have bought (even though second hand) sound just like cds! and better than any other vinyls I ever had in my life.
