Your comments about this record:

Nobody said a word yet? Okay. This record is perhaps the greatest achievement in music for the last 30 years, perfect to the finest detail. Each song is a rich world of its own and you never stop discovering new things about them. The arrangements have simply never been topped before or since. The (most) incredible thing here is the vocal arrangements. Listen to "Maxine" and be dazzled. "The Nightfly" is the product of one of those rare moments in music history when everything, every last detail, fits together. The musicians are there, the sound, the album cover. The lyrics and melodies will stay with you for a long time. It's been said, but here it goes again: You need to own this album. There is no excuse. Can't afford it? Sell your sister. She will understand.

Hannes is right. This is one of the few records that never grow old. The melodies still last after some 25 years and every song is a classic. You'll be crazy looking for "WJAZ" on the internet :-). Don't care about all that jazz? You will, believe me!

i like so much this album, here in chile came in the year 1982 and hit with only three songs "i.g.y" "new frontier" and my favorite "walk between raindrops" also the three are in my exclusive collection together with anothers like "hamilton, joe frank & reynolds"

Could not agree more with all the previous comments... Maybe just a little trick for those who like "the nightfly", check out the soundtrack from the movie "the king of comedy", you'll find a David Sanborn track called "the finer thing", it is fagen penned and even better a left over from the nightfly sessions, same sound, same quality...
