great song 1000 miles
“Kimberly Franks 1000 miles” album is a classic. I’ve heard all her albums and this (her debut) is definitely the best in my opinion. For example her follow up called just “Kimberly frank” in US and Japan (with 8 tracks) and called “Deep Kiss” in some asian reasons (missing one track of the US/ Jap version but containing a few extra tracks unavailable elsewhere) is more pop rock… westcoast flavoured.. but not like true westcoast to me. It still has some great tracks (I recommend the Asian version if you can get it- great voice) but “1000 miles” is better. As noted…for Toto or Joe williams maniacs “1000 miles” contains a Beatles cover (duet) with Joseph. ‘If I fell’. Can’t help giggling sometimes with Kimberly singing If I fell in love with you…..would you love me more than her…. But I suppose it’s her nice way way of honouring the Beatles and her male fans : ) Either that or she’s a lesbian. Sorry, don’t print that. Hahaha.. ‘Take me now’, reminds me of one of the songs from Frederic slama’s 2006 LA Attraction musically and it’s great music, though personally it’s my least favourite song on the 1000 miles album lyrically. Overall this “1000 miles” cd is a real masterpiece though. I highly recommend for westcoast fans. Brilliant production and very high quality westcoast at times throughout
I stumbled upon some of Ms. Frank's material on the net and decided I needed to hear more. I have not been disappointed! Kimberly Frank has an absolutely beautiful voice. Why she hasn't pursued a singing career stateside remains a mystery to me. The standout tracks on the CD are "1,000 Miles," "I Don't Wanna Cry" and a cover of the Beatles, "If I Fell" (sung as a duet with former Toto lead vocalist, Joseph Williams). With that being said, there are NO weak tracks on the CD, all of the songs are both beautifully written and beautifully sung. If you want to broaden your musical horizons a little, give this CD a listen, you won't be disappointed.
