Your comments about this record:

The Voice of Airplay, Tommy Funderburk, has released his first "SOLO" album. Needless to say, Tommy was releasing quite many projects' albums over the years including "Front"(1984), "What If" (1987), and "King Of Hearts". And we could have uncountable opportunities to listen Tommy's lead vocal tracks here and there on various project / CCM worship/ soundtrack albums. However, Tommy never released his "Solo" album before this. It was widely known among his freaks that Tommy made an effort to complete his solo album, which demo tracks were recorded with Greg Mathieson in late 1990's. Tommy decided to restart his first solo album project under the guidance of producer Fabrizio V.Zee Grossi (Glenn Hughes, House of Lords etc.). Aptly titled "Anything For You", the album features several songs co-written by Tommy with the likes of Michael Thompson, Bruce Gaitsch and Greg Mathieson which are a delight for all lovers of classic melodic rock and AOR in the style of Toto, Richard Marx and King of Hearts. Having said so, I have to emphasize that Tommy is saying that this is just one-side of Tommy Funderburk because many people cannot satsisfy with this production because of too heavy edge guitar arrangement with less keyboards. Comparing with Greg Matieson producing original demo recordings, Fabrizio V.Zee Grossi sound production would be too heavy.

Finally a rock album with one of the best voices around, in my opinion. It has taken far too long since the AOR/Westcoast masterpiece albums with Airplay, The Front and What If were released. Sure he sang in King of Hearts to but that wasn’t rock, it was more like westcoast pop. Anyway his solo album is not a disappointment at all. 10 modern AOR/melodic rock numbers with both attitude and finesse. My absolute favourite track is the groovy “You Got The Love”, a piece that sticks in your head instantly and I just wanted to hit the repeat button over and over again. The only thing I miss is the westcoast-rock arrangements like the ones on Airplay. A few numbers in that style would make this album perfect. But I don’t care because I have one more CD with the master’s voice and such things are always very welcome in my collection.
