Alan Gorrie’s one and only solo album features a typical mid 80's High Tech production. The album includes funky uptempo tracks like "Up", “Electric between us”, soulful groovers ("That Kind of Girl") and the monster ballad "Diary of a Fool". The whole record is clearly influenced by AWBs late works. A similar sound can be also found on Jay Gruska's 1984 solo album "Which one of us is me". Not surprising, since Jay Gruska co produced this album and was jointly responsible for the songwriting. Highly recommended for fans of High Tech AOR/Westcoast.
Fantastic Solo Album of the Average White Band Member, supported by High-Carat Musicians like Michael Landau, Nathan East, Dan Huff and Randy Kerber. High Tech WC with grooving and great Ballads like "Diary of a fool" .Buy it
Alan Gorrie (Lead Vocals, Bass), known as a founding member of Average White Band, released his one and only solo album in 1985 after releasing Average White Band's album "Cupid's In Fashion" (1982) which was the last album of the band before they reunited in 1988. On this album, Alan aggressively challenged the latest digital instruments of those days and succeeded to harmonize the human-oriented basic tracks with good melodies.
