This recording definitely represents a milestone for Amy. Gone is the naivity in her voice. Replacing it is an incredible mark of maturity that is represented on every song (well... with the possible exception of "Fat Baby"). Included on this album is the CCM classic "El Shaddai". This album immediately went gold, which was unheard of by a Christian artist at that time. Released in 1982, AGE TO AGE was voted by Billboard magazine as being the top contemporary Christian album of all time. At the time, it garnered Amy her first Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Album. But perhaps the biggest achievement of this album isn't the Grammy, the platinum status, nor anything else. The really cool thing about AGE TO AGE?? It finally convinced Amy that she could earn a living through her singing. Since its release, AGE TO AGE has gone platinum, signifying that it has sold 1 million copies.
