This is one of the most impresssive albums I've ever listened to. I remember the first time I heard it on Swedish Radio around -82-a famous radioguy-Kjell Alinge played it over and over again in his program-and it did make you listen. It's a pity the album is hard to get and that Bill LaBounty hasn't made an album in eleven years.
Truly one of the great WC-albums! "Livin' It Up" is a classic. Too bad his other albums from this era is so hard to get... Let's hope someone reissues them soon, so we can enjoy more of LaBounty's great songwriting.
A famous swedish radio dj promoted this album heavily in 1985-1986 ( can´t remember exactly)He promoted it so heavy that it even got the newspapers attention, stated to be an adult favourite album. The only problem was that it wasn´t in print any more. This is a fact painfully known for us that love westcoast music.I think many of you out there know what I mean.Well... there was soo much demand for the album that Warner Bros. in Sweden made an re-release of the album.I finally got this LP in my hand.I can still remember the feeling when I listened to it at home for the first time. The radio dj´s name....? Kjell Alinge....Thanks for open my eyes and ears and for introducing me to Bill LaBounty. This album is MAGIC !!!
This record is very special to me,in fact it is the best westcoastrecord ever made! There is not a singel track on it that is bad. It is fielled with late night, romantic and broken hearted songs. it is the entire felling of the album, that is held intact through it. it is a felling that no other westcoastrecord could reach and never gonna do today either. If i must choose my favorite songs on the album,it is Secrets,Slow fade and Never gonna look back. These are all ballads, but i think thoose are the strongest songs. I love Bills voice and it suits perfectly here, especially if you think on his earlier works were it hadent bloomed out fully yet. Finally it is a pitty that the album is so hard to find on cd. Please Warner re-issue this everdying masterpeice,so the hole wide world could enjoy it! This record deserves not be a forgotten one!
