I had the great fortune to be at the Concerthouse in Stockholm in 1983.Performing that night was Randy Crawford backed up by an norwegian band called Lava.That was the first time I ever heard of Lava.It was an glorious evening,Randy Crawford was amazing and Lava did an fantastic job.They also had a section of their own ,performing songs from the FIRE album.I was hooked on from that evening and has been ever since,but this album has an special part in my life.Outstanding cuts on this album is the duet "YOU" and "SOMETHING". Please,please,release the Cruisn and Primetime albums on CD aswell.
Lava I really love. I talked to rolf graf (he's the bass player and songwriter to some of the tracks) on myspace and he's a very nice guy. But I mean..Their albums just rock. The mix of styles is quite unusual. It's not like a lot of the US westcoast...It's a mix of disco/techno/jazz, oh I don't know... so many things. Just check out I'm in love. What a hook. I also have Alibi (2005) most recently and it's amazing. The funny thing is that this album actually sounds like some songs on alibi. You think, it will be very dated but it's not. Great Band. Always check gemm and musicstack for albums.. especially if you have a vinyl player you can get some great stuff that dosen't ever seem to come on ebay.
