Lenny LeBlanc coming from Massachusetts, moved to Muscle Shoals and started session works as a bass player and vocalist in 1973 after disbanding his band "Whale Fathers". Several years later, Lenny got the recording deal and released 2 solo albums in 1976 and 1977 which did not sell well. Lenny started LeBlanc-Carr Band with Pete Carr and released their successful album "Midnight Light" under the name of "LeBlanc & Carr" in 1977. "Something About You" ranked # 48 and "Falling" ranked # 13 on the US single chart in 1978. In spite of the success, Lenny stopped this duo project in 1978. 2 Years later, Lenny released this solo album "Breakthrough" including the hit tune "Somebody Send My Baby Home" ranked # 55 under Capitol Records. This album is the last one Lenny released in the pop music market and Lenny started to work in the Contemporary Christian Music field.
The name of the band was Whalefeathers. It wasn't Lenny's band. He joined a three-piece group that was already in place. Lenny was a great bassist and vocalist, and a fantastic slide guitarist. I saw Whalefeathers many times in the Cincinnati area before their demise.
