All I can say is that it takes one hell of an artist to pull off a CD like this and Peter does it PERFECTLY and without flaw! What a concept! This is probably the most original CD I've ever heard. My two favorite songs on this CD are "Spare Tire Orchestra" and "India". "India" is probably my favorite Peter Mayer song and this version takes it to an entirely different level! The end goes into "Teach Your Children", featuring harmonies that are amazing! "The Remains" is a good song to drive to. Don't ask me why. It's just a good song to crank up when driving down a long stretch of highway. This CD CANNOT BE MISSED!! My only complaint about this CD is that it is too short. I would've liked a few more songs. Perhaps a double CD set! Absolutely unique and amazing.
Man, where to start? I've listened to Peter's music for over 10 years now and his music keeps getting stronger. This acoustic set showcases Peter's virtuosity as a musician and his tenderness and imagination as a lyricist. Highlights are the straight ahead blues rocker "Hair of the Dog" and available for the first time since the first PM effort (no longer in print) "Moonlight Over Paris". If you truly like good music, then to not get this cd is a tragedy.
