Your comments about this record:

this is a sweet cd. The reissue from wounded bird sounds great. Apart from being a little louder it is very subtly sparkled up and I can tell anyone who has the original elektra one that wounded bird's 06 release definately sounds slightly better. This is very interesting mostly synth driven 80's with some truly great songs here. Stay The Night is a beauty with a kind of metaphorical meaning I believe. It says, stay with life and believe in yourself along with whatever else it says if you ask me (which is probably why if you read online, many people say they find it touching and that it makes them tear eyed). A lovely song with out of this world atmosphere to it. In general this album really showcases the power of the synthesiser!! Skyline is another track with a totally magical and pretty (as one amazon reviewer says) break that creeps up on you at around two minutes into the song. You think, 'this is a bit boring'.. then suddenly... wow. Few times have I heard better 'moments' in music than that one. The title track The Lace is another good song. World class guitar solo and great vocal. 'Hold on' - another great song. Wow. Talk about 80's heaven. Finally you'd have to mention the last track 'This time Around'. A real love song if I ever heard one and so imaginative in everyway. What great songwriting and what a great cd. Another thing i'd have to say about this album is that the vocals are excellent too. Sometimes you have a fine album that is more so propelled by the music but this uses vocal in that big way as an instrument just as much as any other element. If you don't own this, you should just get it right away. Cheers. Dave. P.s. I'd sure like to someday hear the other unreleased stuff that he was said to have been working on in the years after The Lace (intended for a follow up). Died prematurely Ben, but I bet he would've given his seal of approval to wounded bird if he'd heard the re-issue. The album is back and sounding like the entire thing was made in the distant future. Seriously, though you can say it sounds totally 80's. In another way this album sounds way far away

This is an excellent sounding CD--it makes you wish Benjamin Orr recorded more solo stuff before he passed away. In the Cars, he was the opposite of Ric Occask--he was the one with the emotional voice where Occask was the one with the rough voice and out & out belted out a song--I agree- both are great singers but I will take Orrs voice anytime--his voice was very emotional and clear-his songwriting is excellent.(remember the song Drive-what a vocal masterpiece!!) I bought this CD on eBay for $50 a few years ago. It was only released once on CD many years ago and has been long out-of-print. I'm very happy to see it re-released as it really is a great album. I had it on vinyl years ago, and it was a must-buy on CD... it just wasn't available! If you like the Cars, you'll love this album. Stay The Night was the hit single, and it's still stuck in my head after all these years.

Otra joya del Aor que se ha reeditado hace poco (2006). Los temas 3, 8 y 10 son clásicos absolutos de los 80´s. 9/10 !!!
