I love this album.Welcome back David !Please be back more often. The title track is so beautiful and so is"When your Love Was Almost Mine" IS AMAZING .The versions of the two Ambrosia songs are great BUT after wating so long for a new David Pack album you want it all to be new material. After all you cant get to much of Mr.Pack. But you canīt have it all,and what David delivers on this album have surley saved my day.And more days to come...........
I was impressed by how David Pack has not lost a bit of his vocal quality from his Ambrosia days. Steve Perry and he blend so well together. CD reminds me a lot of Michael McDonald a bit, and even hints some Eagles/Don Henley background & harmonies. It has a little for every taste as the sounds are provacative and unique! I would reccomend this to everyone.
In August 2004, David Pack made a surprise guest appearance during the Benoit/Freeman set at the KWJZ Smooth Jazz Festival in Seattle. When he took the stage the crowd went nuts! He sounded GREAT, and we all knew that "Pack was back". The positive energy of that wonderful moment has carried over into this CD! David's voice is better than ever, and his compositional skills seem even more sophisticated and mature. Also, he has surrounded himself with a number of major talents who have also "stood the test of time"(Steve Perry, Ann Wilson, Dewey Bunnell and Timothy B. Schmidt as featured vocalists. David's early hits with Ambrosia continue to be some of my all time favorite songs, and its great to hear his updated versions of "Biggest Part of Me" and "You're the Only Woman". I'm on my 4th listen and this just gets better & better. There is a nice variety of styles here, but overall fits into adult contemporary with some songs destined for smooth jazz airplay. I strongly recommend this album for long time Pack fans (and those who will become fans after hearing this great music). I look forward to David continuing to share his melodies and lyrics, along with his terrific vocals and musicianship. Its so good to hear him again!
David Pack - The Secret Of Movin' On. The CD was released in August 9 on Concord/Peak Records, and i'm so glad that I buy this record. David Pack is one of the best WestCoast singer ever and it was about time this record came up. I really like the titletrack "The Secret Of Movin' On", but there's lots of great tracks. Steve Perry, ex Journey does a great performance at track 5 "A brand new start"! 9/10. / Bengt
