The Pages saga began in 1978 with their first release. An album produced by the Blood Sweat & Tears drummer Bobby Colomby. For the ones that were chasing LPīs this album was hard to find. All of a sudden released on CD in Europe, before the Japan release. How often does that happen ? 9 great tracks with Room At The Top as a killer track. At least for me.
Pages is, so to speak, my "westcoast childhood". I think everyone has four or five albums that are closest to their heart. These three albums are among the first I heard, and still I feel they are filled with the smoothest, grooviest, most soulful, sexiest music on the planet. Listen to "This Is For The Girls" and "I Get It From You" and you'll see what I mean.
First effort by Pages. I cannot say whatīs my fauvorite (possibly the third album). This one contains a sophisticated westcoast sound, smooth melodies and an incredible musicanship, the opening "Clearly Kim" contains an infectious groove, the 2 and 3 song takes you to a late night smooth dinner with your girl and the Totoish "Listen For the Love" is the highlight of the album. I have the japan cd reissue by Sony made in 2001 and i donīt know if it still available, but i highly recommend the purchase of this cd along with the other two because there are 3 crucial albums in westcoast music, really.
