Your comments about this record:

Ex Mr Mister front man Richard Page is a perfect example of the paradox of great musical talent. You want much much more, but the resistance to sacrifice quality for quantity by the artist is why it's so good. Even the greatest talents cannot generate top class material for a sustained period every year. Shelter Me is a truly great album, that would be a classic if only more people got to hear it a couple of times. It achieves a freshness by using Hammond B3 organ, harmonica, clean drumming and an unplugged quality of the bass and guitar. This sounds like an unholy mix, but it is sensitively combined to sound right rather than deliberately odd. Page's singing adds the emotion and range that only performers in his class can. My life is richer already for buying this album. I eagerly await his next piece of work. Do yourself a favour and get a copy. Unless you are strictly into a specific genre you will like it.

10 years have gone since this masterpiece was released. As every true classic it has stand the test of time and will do for hundreds of years to come.I totally agree wih Manuel Arandas very precise review. You definitely want more from Mr.Page.And perhaps this music is a bit to intelligent for everyone to appreciate and that is why it hasnīt got the attention it deserves. It has passion, integrity and stories to tell. This album is essential for everyone

This album is really good. And it`s fun to notice that the guys from Mr Mister come together on this album. It also contains the Nik Kershaw song oxygene that Richard Page used as a demo for Chicago when he was considered joining them.A truly masterpiece!!

Wonderful Solo Album of the Ex-Pages, Mr Mister Member. Great Songs in Uptempo and Soft Area settled, improved by one of the best Voices in this Genre. A CD to precise listening.

A beautiful album! Too bad Page hasn't done more the recent years. Every song is memorable, and the sound is impeccable.

This album would be high up on a list of my Top 5 greatest albums of all time, all categories. This is simply incredible, incredible music. Everything sounds so simple, so relaxed, so honest, yet one-of-a-kind and completely without cliche's. Get it. At all costs, get it!

"Shelter Me" has to be one of the best kept musical secrets ever! How this album ever "got away" I'll never understand! Many may be familiar with bands such as Mr. Mister and Pages where Richard Page has previously been involved as Lead Vocalist/Bass Player. A few may have also been lucky enough to have fallen over Third Matinee where Richard Page's vocal and instrumental talents combined with Patrick Leonards excellent keyboards and production skills provided us with a worthy follow-up to the Toy Matinee album. "Shelter Me" contains great songs that have a certain timeless quality about them, absolutely flawless soulful vocal performances, immaculate musicianship and an exceptional minimal sound production! What more could you wish for? Invest in this one now before it disappears forever!!

I would rank this CD up there as a hidden gem along with John Waite's Temple Bar and When You Were Mine. I only wish that RP had more solo material out there...
