Your comments about this record:

Sneaker, known for their Billboard Top 40 Hit "More Than Just The Two Of Us" from their 1st album "Sneaker" (1981) is one of the unforgettable Westcoast group in early 80's. We felt their music were influenced by Steely Dan, Eagles and Doobie Brothers. It is the well-known fact that he group name "Sneaker" is taken from the Steely Dan's tune "Bad Sneaker" which is on the Steely Dan's album "Katy Lied". This 1st album was produced by Jeffrey Baxter (ex Steely Dan and ex Doobie Brothers) and the opening cut of the 1st album is the cover version of Steely Dan's "Don't Let Me In". This 1st album "Sneaker" is nothing but one of the masterpiece album in early 80's.

"More than just the two of us" is the most romantic and celestial songs of all... also the group "Champaign" have another celestial song "how bout us" and another is from the big artist "Gino Vanelli" the songs "wheels of life & living inside myself", but sneaker is the best. exept for another song of a group called "barnaby bye" the song "something good about nothing" this almost a treasure that you'll have to find. thanks

I only bought this for the nostalgia of "More than Just the Two of Us", which I remembered from high school dances. That and the Climax Blues Band's I Love You made some great memories for me. So I ordered this CD 25 years later, and I really love the music. It is almost a crime this band didn't become as big as Toto and others. I mention them because a casual listen will conjure names such as Toto, as well as Steely Dan, Gino Vanelli, Supertramp, Kenny Loggins, in other words, some of the best of the late 70's/early 80's songwriting. The playing is precise, the vocals are in-tune, and the production is slick without being overly sterile. The music is also easy on the ears without being simpleton and dumbed-down. This may be one album that could give you nostalgic feelings for music you never heard.

Sneaker's debut album hits the bullseye! A great blend of tracks, featuring the genius of Mitch Crane, Michael Carey Schneider and the boys. Jeff "Skunk" Baxter's production is a definite nice touch here as well. "More Than Just the Two of Us" and "Looking For Someone Like You" are two of the finest ballads you'll here anywhere. A big thumbs WAY up!

More than Just the Two of Us is the one hit that came out of this album but strangely enough for me, it's my least favorite. All the tracks are excellent. Jaymes is my personal favorite from this album.
