A criminally underrated effort by JT from 1981. Rumour has it he was really down and out these days and so the lyrics come out quite personal. What I love about JT: he doesn't want to bring you down, he encourages you to go on. Some listeners might find "Her town too" a boring tune, for me I can say that it still thrills me to the bone every time I hear JD Souther coming in on the lead. "Hard times" is a song for all of those who have loved and lost but still believe. "I will follow" and "Summer's here" are classic JT-tracks and "Stand and fight" - quite unbelievably - rocks. No wonder many County Rock Samplers include it. A treat to listen to.
