What can I say about this album: It’s one of the best Westcoast-Records ever! Ok, I’ll try some words: On this album Joseph Williams (son of moviescore composer John Williams) has entered the band as lead singer. He does a hell of a job! This album contains so many awesome tunes. My absolute favorite song is: Without Your Love! So – and now: give this CD in your player and feel it!
I do absolutely agree with the comment above when talking about "Fahrenheit" in terms of very stylish, mid-eighties AOR/Westcoast sound. Once more, Toto really sounds like they were years ahead of their time on this LP. So what makes this album special? Well, first of all, what can go wrong with top-notch lead vocalist Joseph Williams standing behind the mics? Right! Nothing! Furthermore, Toto's "Fahrenheit" comes with a broad palette of nicely arranged ballads and mid-tempo rocksongs such as the classic "I'll Be Over You" and "Somewhere Tonight" or "Lea". All in all, a great album - and if it wasn't for their follow-up album "The Seventh One", "Fahrenheit" would probably be my personal 80's AOR/Westcoast favorite by Toto. ****1/2
My fav TOTO album. I think Joseph is a great vocalist. TOTO's sound and his vocals were a match made in heaven. My favourite track is 'Could This Be Love' - in fact it is prob 'one' of my overall favourite TOTO tracks. Highly recommended.
Para mí el mejor disco Aor de Toto (seguido muy de cerca del de 1988). Los temas 2,3,5,8 y 9 son increíbles. Mucha calidad, clase y feeling. Las baladas son de otro planeta.
"I'll be over you" is one of my fav songs of all time. I like half this album a lot... I certainly never thought it was a great 'LP' though and 'The Seventh one' LP which followed in 88 is much more recommendable for me
I love the 2 hits "I'll Be Over You" and "Without Your Love" but beyond that I can do without this album. Some of the other songs are catchy and I enjoy them but they seem to drag on WAY too long and are very repetitive. Many 80s album tracks tended to do this. Repeating the chorus forever. Two examples are "Could This Be Love" and "Somewhere Tonight" start out very well but they drag at the end. So much it makes it hard for me to get through the album. The album "The Seventh One" that followed this is so much better and is one of my favorite Toto albums. My favorite four Toto albums are "Falling In Between", "The Seventh One", "Toto: IV", and the debut.
Great album. Williams steps in and does a great job as lead singer. "Til The End" and "Could This Be Love" are great upbeat tunes, while "Without Your Love" and "I'll Be Over You" are awesome slow-grooves.
Fine album with a fantastic Joseph Williams on lead vocals. Not one of their best, but pure WestCoast and a necessary addition to every Toto addict (like myself).
