This release is loaded with great songs, and witty lyrics abound. This is Gino's "new wave" entry - very upbeat, "rock" influenced and fun to listen to. I especially love the voice-overs - very sexy. Some of my favourite lyrics are on this LP, including, "Here she comes, the ghost of Venus de Milo." (Okay maybe it’s just the say he says it!?). BTW: This CD stayed in the US-top 200 album charts for 25 weeks.
A cd to grace any collection! One of my favourite Gino cds, and the one that turned me on to his music."Hurts to be in Love" must be one of the best ballads ever recorded! Other favourutes are "The Other Man" and "Total Stranger" This shows a different side than Ginos later work, as Linda says almost New Wave. Great Stuff. BUY!
"The Longer You Wait" is one of the most widely-known rare songs. This song should have been released as a track on his 2nd Arista album "Twisted Heart" in 1982, which was never released due to creative differences between the record company. It got shelved in long battles with the label and thus Gino could not record for 4 years before coming back with 1985 album "Black Cars".
