Jack Wagner, better known as Frisco Jones on "General Hospital" (and somewhat of a lighter, more emotional Rick Springfield) put together this 1984 release, combining dancable synth pop with soft-rock themed ballads and some straight pop/rock. In summary, this is one of those unique albums that, most likely will only be found at secondhand music stores or flea markets. Despite its somewhat heavy reliance on dramatic love songs, even someone like me (not exactly a soap fan) could get some enjoyment out of it. "All I Need" is my favorite track!
wer verkauft mir die CD ,,All I need''?
Muy buen disco de Westcoast/Lite Aor. El tema All I Need (5) sonó muchísimo y es el mejor del disco para mí, pero no crean que aquí se acaba el disco: practicamente todo el cd es muy bueno y parejo.
Jack Wagner is a pretty good actor. Even if he's unfairly tagged just a soap star. But the thing is this guy can really sing as demonstrated on this album. He's done some good album work but I think this first one really captures the magic. The songs are catchy, some rock others move you like the ballads. There's even a bit of techno-pop in there too which captures the 80's flavor. The good thing about this record is the synths are there but they compliment and don't dominate the songs. There's strong melodies and hooks and just enough crunchy power-chord guitars to keep the balance. Favorite tracks include the infectious rocker: "Make Me Believe It", "Sneak Attack", new-wavy "Premonition" and the beautiful sweet ballad "Whenever Hearts Collide" really convey some excellant songs. First-rate songwriting, hooks and the production is outstanding. Jack sings his heart out and you can feel the sincerity and passion in his vocals. He's not just miming the words he truly means it! The band is definetly top of the line L.A./West Coast as good as it gets! All I can say is you really do owe it to yourself to give Jack and this album a chance...you won't be disappointed!!
This is an excellent debut. All I Need is the biggest hit that came out of this album but my two favorites are Fighting the Nights and After the Fact. These are the two tracks I listen to most often although none of the tracks could be considered as mere fillers. I love the guitar riffs on Fighting the Night. After the Fact is as West Coast as any song can get. Very highly recommended.
HIS GREATEST CD! SECOND IS VERY RARE AND CAN FIND FOR OVER 200USD!
