Warren Zevon (R.I.P.)has always been a hero for me. This CD which is his 2nd solo CD got so many smooth melodies. There's no question about why Linda Ronstadt and many others made covers of his songs! Listen to the great melodies and beautiful arrangements! It's no coincidence that it sounds a lot like alltime favorite Jackson Browne and Eagles if You look at the line up. And all this very smooth steel guitar playing by Mr David Lindley! Mr Zevon was a little bit of a crazy and very intelligent if You listen carefully to the lyrics that he wrote. For example in the alltime favorite "Desperados Under The Eaves" where he tried to sound like the sound of an air condition system at a hotel: "I was sitting in the Hollywood hawaiian hotel I was listening to the air conditioner hum It went mmmmmm. look away........................................ This album is very great, but make sure You get Your hands on his double-CD compilation titled "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead"! It was released by the record label Rhino and that means a very thick booklet with much information, lyrics, discography, etc. The reading of this thick booklet to that compilation is half of listening if you know what I mean!
